COLOMBO (News 1st); All schools in the Galle district will be closed on Monday (09) and Tuesday (10), due to floods.

6,940 people belonging to 2,900 families have been affected due to floods in the Galle district.

District Secretary Shanath Weerasinghe said three houses have been destroyed, while 199 houses were damaged due to prevailing showers.

He said 20 families were directed to safe camps.

Landslide warnings have been issued to Welendawatte, Yakkalamulla.
