Adjournment debate on Israel-Palestine conflict in Parliament today (20)

COLOMBO (News 1st); An adjournment debate is due to be held in Parliament on Friday (20), requesting the United Nations to intervene to peacefully resolve the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

The relevant proposal was presented by MP Udaya Gammanpila.

Accordingly, the debate on several orders under the Companies Act and the Measurement Units, Standards And Service Act, which was scheduled for Friday (20), has been postponed.

The Representative of Sri Lanka to the State of Palestine Bennet Cooray said meaures are being taken to safely move the 17 Sri Lankans in the Gaza Strip to Egypt.

He added it was confirmed that the Sri Lankans are safe.
