Shots fired into the air to control Hambantota Brawl

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Sri Lanka Navy had fired shots into the air to control a dispute that broke out between two factions at the Sri Lanka Coast Guard station in Hambantota.

Sri Lanka Police said that an argument had broken out between the Sri Lanka Coast Guard officers and local fishermen over an incident where two boats met with an accident in the seas off Hambantota.

The argument had escalated in to an ugly brawl and in order to control the situation, the Sri Lanka Navy had fired shots into the air.
