Wasantha Mudalige returned to remand custody

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The Convener of the Inter-University Students' Federation Wasantha Mudalige was remanded again to the 13th of January 2023.

He was produced to Fort Magistrate Thilina Gamage on Thursday (5).

The case filed against Wasantha Mudalige on multiple counts including the refusal to accept a court order against a protest opposite the Fort Railway Station, and obstructing the duties of police officers was taken up in Court.

The Convener of the Inter-University Students' Federation Wasantha Mudalige was produced to court in the morning.

Wasantha Mudalige was arrested last year following a protest and detained under the controversial Prevention of Terrorism Act, and was later remanded.
