Race Course Murder: University of Colombo student arrested

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Police have arrested a student of the University of Colombo over the gruesome murder in broad daylight of a female student of the same university, whose body was discovered near the Race Course in Colombo's fashionable Cinnamon Gardens, just yards from the police station.

The arrest was made in Wellampitiya on Tuesday (17), Police Spokesman SSP Nihal Talduwa said. The victim, a 24-year-old Science Faculty student at the University of Colombo, had been killed by slitting her throat.
