Eleven Lankan fishermen arrested by Indian Coast Guard

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Eleven Sri Lankan fishermen along with two vessels have been arrested by the Indian Coast Guard under charges of illegally entering Indian waters.

At the time, the fishermen were fishing in Indian waters, 175 nautical miles off the coast of Kalingapatnam in Srikakulam district.

Indian media reported that the arrested fishermen have been handed over to the Kakinada Police Station for further investigations.
