Special team to investigate Ella landslides, says NBRO

Colombo (News 1st)- A special team from the National Building Research Organization (NBRO) is scheduled to arrive in Malliththagolla, Ella, to investigate the areas at risk of landslides.

E.M.L. Udaya Kumara, Assistant Director of the Badulla District Disaster Management Unit, said the team will visit the area on May 1 to make arrangements for the inspection.

Meanwhile, another landslide occurred in Malittagolla last Wednesday.

The Badulla District Disaster Management Unit has evacuated 13 families from the area on two separate occasions due to the landslide threat.

The Badulla District Disaster Management Center advises caution when traveling along the Ella-Wellawaya road due to the ongoing landslide situation.
