Medical Association Demands Probe into Misused Healthcare Funds from Indian Credit Line

Colombo (News 1st)- The Medical and Civil Rights Professional Association is calling for an immediate investigation into the misuse of funds allocated for healthcare under the Indian Credit Line.

The association's chairman, Dr. Chamal Sanjeeva, cited a recent disclosure by the Attorney General in the Maligakanda Magistrate's Court, alleging that the process for importing medicines using funds from the Indian Credit Line for healthcare was not conducted properly.

Dr. Sanjeeva further elaborated that the association has consistently requested the establishment of a presidential commission to investigate and prosecute those responsible for financial misconduct in the health system, based on the audit reports presented by COPE.
