Verdict on Cases Against Sarana Gunawardena on April 30th

The Colombo High Court announced today that the verdict for four cases filed by the Bribery Commission against former Deputy Minister Sarana Gunawardena will be delivered on April 30.

The case was called today before Colombo High Court Judge Mohamed Mihal.

During the proceedings, the parties involved in the case concluded their oral submissions.

Subsequently, the judge announced that the verdict for the four cases would be delivered on April 30.

These cases were filed by the Bribery Commission during the previous Yahapalana government, alleging that Sarana Gunawardena caused a loss to the state while serving as the Chairman of the National Lotteries Board in 2006 by acquiring vehicles for the institution on a rental basis.
