Schools to Reopen on December 16 | A/L In January

COLOMBO (News 1st); The Ministry of Education has announced that government schools, which were closed due to the recent disaster situation, will reopen on December 16 under a phased approach. 

Secretary to the Ministry of Education, Nalaka Kaluwawa, confirmed that the official circular outlining the reopening procedure will be issued today.

Meanwhile, Commissioner General of Examinations, Indika Liyanage, revealed that the remaining subjects of the GCE Advanced Level Examination will be conducted in January. 

She noted that the department has yet to receive complete information about students from disaster-affected regions who need to sit for the exams. These details are essential to allocate candidates to appropriate examination centers.
