COLOMBO (News 1st); Rawalpindi witnessed a powerful moment of cricket diplomacy as Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi visited the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium to personally oversee preparations for the ongoing Sri Lanka tour.
Accompanied by Sri Lankan High Commissioner Fred Senviratne and Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry, Naqvi reviewed the security arrangements and met with law enforcement personnel stationed at the venue.
Expressing his appreciation for their dedication, Naqvi lauded the security teams for ensuring a safe environment for international cricket. He then met the Sri Lankan players, extending heartfelt gratitude for their decision to continue the tour despite challenges.
Calling the occasion “a victory for peace and a testament to the enduring friendship between Pakistan and Sri Lanka,” Naqvi emphasized that cricket remains a powerful bridge between nations.
The visit also saw the presence of top officials, including the Chief Commissioner Islamabad, Commissioner Rawalpindi, IG Islamabad Police, and senior law enforcement leaders, underscoring the collaborative effort to make this series a success.
