Police Seize T-56 Ammo, Smoke Bomb in Hurulu Wewa

COLOMBO (News 1st); Police have uncovered a significant stockpile of ammunition during a search operation at Hurulu Wewa in Anuradhapura, acting on a tip-off received via the 119 emergency hotline.

The raid was carried out by officers from the Galenbindunuwewa Police Division.

Authorities discovered a cache of T-56 rifle ammunition, several 9mm empty slugs, and even a smoke bomb near a bathing area of the reservoir.

Police noted that this is not the first time ammunition has been found at this location.

The seized items are now in police custody, and further investigations are underway.
