Suspected Drug Trafficker Arrested in Wennappuwa After Arriving from India

COLOMBO (News 1st): A suspect linked to drug trafficking was arrested in Wennappuwa after arriving in Sri Lanka secretly from India by boat.
The arrest was made during a joint operation conducted by the Navy and the police based on intelligence reports.
The suspect was previously apprehended in India in 2021 on drug trafficking charges.
The Sri Lanka Navy said that the suspect was handed over to the Wennappuwa police for further investigations.
