COLOMBO (News1st); Sri Lanka Navy said the remains of the fisherman who died when an Indian fishing vessel capsized close to Delft Island in the northern region of the Sea of Sri Lanka, and the two fishermen who were rescued, will be handed over to India.
Another fisherman was reported missing after the vessel capsized, and Navy Spokesman Captain Gayan Wickramasuriya said there is no information on the missing fisherman yet.
Sri Lanka Navy said the Indian fishing vessel capsized while trying to escape seizure while fishing in the Sea of Sri Lanka in the early hours of Thursday (01) morning.
Sri Lanka Navy said four Indian fishermen were onboard the vessel at the time, and one of them succumbed after being rescued and admitted to the Pungudutivu Hospital.
