Heavy rain for Sri Lanka's south-west

COLOMBO (News 1st); The Met Department said that showers or thundershowers will occur at times in Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces and in Galle and Matara districts.

Several spells of showers will occur at North-western province and in the Kandy, Nuwara-Eliya and Hambanthota districts, it added.

Fairly heavy showers above 50mm can be expected at some places in Western, Sabaragamuwa and Uva provinces and in Galle, Matara, Ampara and Batticaloa districts.

General public is requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
