COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lanka Police said that the shooting that took place in Ambalangoda on Sunday (21) could have resulted from a dispute among criminals.
On Sunday (21) two people were gunned down when a shooter opened fire at an open area on an upper floor of an Ambalangoda Hotel.
A 32-year-old Boat Owner and a 33-year-old employee at a private establishment were killed.
Two other men also in their thirties were injured and admitted to the Balapitiya Hospital for treatment.
Police investigations revealed that the four men were consuming alcohol in the upper floor area of the hotel and a man armed with a T-56 Assault Rifle wearing a full-face helmet had stormed into the premises and opened fire at them.
One man died instantly, and the other died upon admission to the hospital.
