Showers are to be expected in several areas over the island

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The Department of Meteorology says that showers or thundershowers may occur at a few places in Uva province and Matara, Hambanthota, Ampara and Jaffna districts during the afternoon or night.

Mainly fair weather will prevail elsewhere in the country.

The misty condition can be expected in Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central provinces, and Galle and Matara districts during the morning.

Condition of Rain:

A few showers are likely in sea areas off the coast extending from Galle to Hambantota via Matara.

Winds:

Winds will be from a north-easterly or variable direction and the speed will be (20-30) kmph. 

State of Sea:

The sea areas around the island will be slight.
