COLOMBO (News1st): The government today (March 29) announced that pensions would be paid on April 2 and 3, failing which it would be paid by April 6.
The Department of Posts will deliver the pensions to their residences or the Grama Niladhari Divisions for those who receive their pensions through the Post Office, the Presidential Task Force on Essential Services said in a statement.
The statement added that those who receive their pensions through bank accounts will have the payments credited on April 2 and 3.
Further, the government has decided to arrange transportation for pensioners who require to withdraw money from their bank accounts on April 2 and 3.
Accordingly, pensioners have been informed to give prior notice through the Grama Niladhari's of their respective areas to obtain this service.
