Special Security and Traffic Measures for Presidential Nomination Day on August 15

COLOMBO (News 1st) - A special security arrangement will be implemented on August 15, when nominations for the Presidential Election will be accepted.

The plan will be carried out as advised by the Election Commission.

Sri Lanka Police said that the assistance of the Police Special Task Force will also be utilized for the security arrangements.

Police also announced that a special traffic program will be implemented on August 15 in the vicinity of the Election Office in Rajagiriya, where nominations will be accepted.

Additionally, the number of representatives accompanying candidates to submit nominations has been limited.

Election Commissioner General Saman Sri Ratnayake said that only two people, including the party secretary and the presidential candidate, are allowed to enter the nomination hall.

Three additional people are permitted to stay on the Election Commission premises.

On August 15, nominations will be accepted from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM.
