Mahan Air To Connect Tehran And Colombo

COLOMBO (News 1st); Foreign Minister Ali Sabri announced today that the Iranian government has conveyed its interest in establishing direct air connectivity between Iran and Sri Lanka.

Ali Sabry, PC, emphasizing the importance of attracting foreign investors to Sri Lanka noted that during the visit of the Iranian President to the country, Sri Lanka achieved a major milestone by opening the Uma Oya hydroelectric power plant, which now contributes 120 megawatts to the national grid.

Additionally, Mahan Air, the Iranian airline, has expressed interest in flying to Sri Lanka, potentially boosting tourism from the region.
