Railway Restructuring Interim Report to the President's Secretary

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The Railway Department handed over the interim report containing the restructuring plan to the President's Secretary by the committee appointed for that purpose.

Its Chairman, Secretary of the Ministry of Ports and Aviation KDS Ruwanchandra says that this report has given facts about the restructuring basic plan.

It includes suggestions for making trains more efficient and minimizing losses.

The committee that was appointed to present proposals regarding the restructuring of the railways includes a group of 16 university lecturers and former railway general managers.

The final report is planned to be submitted before December 31.
