70% of schools in the Western Province identified as breeding grounds for mosquitoes, warns the National Dengue Control Unit

COLOMBO (News 1st); NDCU Director, Dr. Nalin Ariyaratne told News 1st that this confirmed following tests carried out in recent days. 

He also said that all public spaces are mosquito breeding grounds, and during a discussion with the Governor of the Western Province and other officials, the matter was raised in order to take relevant action.

Accordingly, the District and Divisional Secretaries were vested with the power to locate and destroy all mosquito breeding areas.
