Constitutional Council rejects IGP's service extension

COLOMBO (News 1st); The Constitutional Council has rejected the three-week service extension given by the President to Inspector General of Police C.D. Wickramaratne.
The decision was reached when the Constitutional Council convened on Tuesday (17), chaired by Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardana.
A member of the Constitutional Council confirmed it during an inquiry made by News 1st.
