COLOMBO (News 1st) - The Ministry of Housing, Construction, and Cultural Affairs has decided to declare sites with archaeological importance as tobacco and alcohol-free zones.
Secretary to the Ministry, Bernard Wasantha said the program will come into effect from tomorrow (March 01).
Meanwhile, the world heritage site of Sigriya is to be declared a polythene-free zone with effect from tomorrow. The Secretary to the ministry noted that all archaeological sites will be declared as polythene and plastic free zones in the near future.
